We were interested in Far Ground the moment we saw the ‘For Sale sign board go up, having looked out at it across the valley for the 21 years we had lived in Cranham. So we went for a viewing. The field is almost 5 times the size of our previous field, and offered us the chance to create a place that horses could be resident year round. In our existing field they had to move to a local farmers field in summer to allow the grass to grow for winter, and space was very tight for 3 horses. We were also aware that this would be a huge project, and we’re not sure whether we should take it on at our stage of life. In the end we decided to go for it, and had to take on the challenge of sealed bids.
