Clearing the site

Our first job was to clear debris and rubbish scattered around the site. The previous owners had moved quite a lot with a skip, but there was plenty left for us, including an old caravan chassis, and behind the stables and barn there was rubbish in every corner.

The stables themselves needed a good clean, and to evict the resident dove colony. The stables need some renovation, and we were not sure whether they would be big enough for our rather large horses, so may need some creative internal redesign.

The old ash tree above the stables had severe ash die back and needed to be felled before it dropped onto the stables.
