The orchard

The first 2 apple trees and 4 plums were planted in April 2023, in the middle of a bare field. Gradually the paddock layout grew around them, creating our little orchard.

This recycled wooden gate should be just right as an entrance to the orchard. Maybe somewhere around here?
Piles of old branches from opening the hedge for the new entrance were dumped in the orchard and we made them into dead hedges

The orchard, looks as though it was carefully planned to be exactly in the right spot. This is full credit to Rupert for aligning the fences, to digger Dave for his artificial work with the digger, and of course to our basic initial plan.

One of the fruit trees did not survive, and we wanted to add an extra apple tree. So we called in some grandchildren help for planting
